Ontarians Being Recruited to Help Improve Health Care in the Province

Posted on Fri, February 24, 2017 at 10:44 am

On February 13, 2017, the government of Ontario announced that they will start recruiting volunteers to participate in a Patient and Family Advisory Council.  This group will advise the government on policy development, ensure that patient and families are understood, and “help the health care system become more responsive, transparent, and accountable”.

We have heard from many of you and a large number of Ontarians who are unsatisfied with the current state of health care in the province.

This being the case, now is your time to be heard.    If you would like to participate in the Council, or if you would like to nominate someone to participate in the Council, please contact patientfamilyadvisorycouncil@ontario.ca.    The Council will consist of 15 volunteers, who will meet in Toronto over the course of 18 months as well as participate in conference calls and online activities.  To be eligible for the council you must be a resident of Ontario and over the age of 18 (other restrictions apply). If you have any questions about the Council, please call 1-855-207-7410. The deadline to apply is April 10, 2017.
